OverviewWe are looking for a Systems Engineer (Senior/Level 3) to join our Engineering team at our headquarters in Beverly, Massachusetts. The expectation is that you are a curious individual, fast learner, and can work independently and in cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate feels ownership of whatever they work on, always puts the customer experience first, and acts as the technical leader on a project.This is an exciting opportunity to have an impact on new product development of robotic devices. You will be responsible for the engineering requirements, initial concept creation, and sub-system breakdown for new robotic devices that we develop. You will be expected to implement best practices to ensure the correct design path is selected and that projects follow our product development process. You will collaborate closely with stake holders, project management, design engineering, and operations as you guide the product through its full life cycle. • Ensure we develop high quality products that meet all requirements with minimal design iterations
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define engineering requirements and test plans
• Identify and account for any external compliance requirements
• Work with management to set product and technical roadmaps
• Liaise with software team to clearly communicate needs and keep development roadmaps aligned
• Lead engineering activities and technical aspects of development projects
• Transform high level product requirements into detailed engineering requirements
• Define system architecture with sub-system breakdown and interface specifications
• Lead concept development and selection process including risk identification and mitigation strategies
• Facilitate the creation of test plans
• Aid in execution of testing and troubleshooting of issues
• Assist in project scoping and scheduling
• Participate in design reviews to confirm final design meets requirements
• Serve as engineering subject matter expert on the product
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices for successful product development
• Travel up to 10%Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, 2+ years of experience as a systems engineer
  • BS or MS (preferred) in an engineering field
  • track record of successfully developing products across full life cycle using best practices including milestone and phase gate approaches
  • Cross functional experience with ME, EE, and SW and depth in at least one domain
  • Experience with project management and team leadership is a plus
  • Design and hands on experience with complex robotic or electro-mechanical machines
  • High attention to detail and organization to identify potential risks
  • Able to operate with minimal direction or oversight
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively
  • Experience with traditional problem solving approaches (8D, six sigma) is a plus
  • Naturally collaborative with effective communication, writing, and presentation skills
