Solidus is searching for a Visual and Interaction Designer. Candidate will join a team that develops advanced biological and chemical technologies to address urgent national security challenges. The successful candidate will lead visual communications for projects with potentially far-reaching medical research impacts. Qualified and capable individual is needed to help the user experience team identify user communication requirements and apply those to develop interaction design workflows and design assets for medical researchers. Workflows may be novel to the research community, so creativity researching and applying design standards is essential. Remote: 100% Requirements - US Citizenship and the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance; Active Secret preferred - Bachelor's Degree in visual design, interaction design, user interface development, related degree, or equivalent work experience - 3 years' minimum relevant experience Required Experience - Strong web design portfolio - Developing user interfaces to communicate technical content - Strong organizational skills and ability to version and maintain design documentation Additionally Desired - Sketch or Axure - Ability to communicate across multiple disciplines and communication styles - Knowledge of REACT development and./or data visualization Responsibilities include but not limited to - Applying a strong understanding of modern interaction design standards to develop user interface design assets for new and proposed capabilities - Develop and/or apply visual design across multiple features and workflows - Coordinate design assets and communicate user interface components to sponsors and staff - Work with researchers to gather user requirements, identify information needs, and apply findings from usability research to guide and iterate on interaction and visual design - Manage interaction design and visual design artifacts - Serve as team advisor on web and user interface (UI) design patterns, and stay up to date with industry interface design patterns - Develop working knowledge of project technical areas to advise on visual communications - Contribute broadly to interaction design and visual design knowledge base throughout organization Job ID 4555 Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
