Join us as the Global Associate New Product Lead, Neuroscience (aNPL) at the Associate Director level in our Cambridge, MA office working on the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) team.Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) is the primary Commercial Strategy unit within Takeda. It is tasked with developing world class brands and commercial strategies for Takeda's largest and fastest growing brands and pipeline programs across Rare Diseases, Gastrointestinal and Neuroscience. The team is tasked with helping to drive Commercial Innovation in the company.The Neuroscience Product & Launch Strategy Unit (PLSU) is responsible for driving successful product strategies for pipeline programs and recently launched, high growth products, in close collaboration with the Neuroscience Therapeutic Area Unit (TAU) in R&D. Each PLSU is focused on driving the sustained brand growth, while supporting a strong pipeline including multiple assets in Phase II clinical development. The Associate NPL will work closely with the New Product Lead to develop and execute a winning asset strategy for each asset/brand. Moreover, the team helps to drive business development opportunities ensuring a broad commercial perspective and strategy is integrated into the evaluation.How you will contribute:

  • Support the NPL in providing strategic commercial leadership for assigned programs and business development evaluations
  • Provide leadership to the commercial sub-team driving commercial strategy and if assigned by the NPL representing the commercial voice at Global Product Team
  • Drive the development of the asset value proposition, target product profile (TPP) and target product claims (TPCs), leveraging robust market analysis, a thorough understanding of market dynamics, and assessment of potential future trends
  • Develop and communicate a strong understanding of treatment protocols, level of unmet needs, potential patient segments, and competitive pipeline to identify targeted product concepts and necessary product profiles
  • Identify and drive selected commercial workstreams and projects in support of the overall commercial strategy in order to inform clinical development and commercialization plans
  • Proactively partner with relevant stakeholders across Takeda divisions (including Global Medical, Access, Insights, Clinical Sciences, Commercial Regions, Manufacturing, and others) to support the cross-functional assessment and decision-making on strategic alternatives for the program
  • Liaise extensively with internal and external experts to gain insights and identify potential opportunities for early-stage and late-stage clinical programs, pathways, and treatment approaches
  • Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable product strategy implications
  • Ensure the required payer, provider and patient insights are obtained to inform clinical development programs and business development decisions
  • Work with clinical, medical affairs, market access, health economics and outcomes research teams to enable the development of robust evidence plans
  • Be responsible for building and aligning the matrixed organization with global and regional partners regarding early commercial building blocks, narratives and when needed Global Brand Planning understanding regional differences
  • Evaluate market environments, collaborate closely with internal and external thought leaders and key customers in identifying unmet needs and translate information into strategies to achieve short-term and long-term franchise objectives
  • 40% Identify key strategic questions, access and assess relevant data or market research, develop and evaluate options, and incorporate implications for the asset / development strategy
  • 30% Drive specific projects / workstreams as part of the pre-commercialization planning or early market building efforts.
  • 30% Support internal governance, communication, and investor relations deliverables (e.g. quarterly and annual IR events, annual brand plan, Commercialization and Launch Committee meetings)Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or science-related graduate degree preferred
    • 8+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech experience and product launch experience required
    • New product planning, commercial marketing / sales and / or market insights experience that clearly demonstrates strategic thinking and deep analytics
    • Regional / Country or Global marketing experience, focus on launch preparation, product strategy, and market development
    • Must be a strong communicator, able to confidently present findings to top level executives as well as able to represent the commercial perspective to senior members within different functions of the organization
