By focusing R&D efforts on four therapeutic areas and other targeted investments, we push the boundaries of what is possible in order to bring life-changing therapies to patients worldwide.Join Takeda as a Research Investigator where you will provide theoretical/conceptual input to the design, development and execution of research assignments for a specific project or projects within the functional area (e.g., formulation screening by design of experiment, analyze data and create predictive models for protein stability). You will also plan and execute characterization and optimization experiments (protein conformation and chemical stability) within expertise and develops new screening tools (e.g., chromatography, protein particle analysis). As part of the DPD Biologics, you will report to Director, Drug Product Development. How you will contribute:

  • Laboratory-focused, conduct daily laboratory experiments planning and execution.
  • Understand drug product developmental project timelines and deliverables and plans/coordinates project work with departmental, functional and external stakeholders to support clinical studies and commercial.
  • Contribute independently to drug product formulation development work which may include screening multiple proteins within functional area.
  • Review, interprets and communicates data cross-functionally teams (e.g., protein stability data, drug product manufacturing process data).
  • Plan and implement resolutions to technical problems/issues.
  • Independently design and execute experiments, and reports results.
  • Helps develop project strategy and communicates complex data/decisions within department and cross functionally.
  • Integrate scientific/technical efforts around cross-functional issues. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
    • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 7+ years relevant industry experience
    • Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 5+ years relevant industry experience
    • Masters degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 3+ years relevant industry experience,
    • Laboratory skills including protein formulation development experience preferred; experience with analytical methods used for protein analysis such as HPLC, CE/icIEF, spectroscopy, and sub-visible particle analysis; knowledgeable about Design of Experiments and statistical principles for experimental design and data analysis; exposure to the development of combination products and drug antibody conjugates preferred; experience with technology transfer to aseptic drug product manufacturers preferred.
