*Brief Job Summary: *We are seeking applicants for a full time (40
hours per week with benefits) research assistant (RA) position to
begin in January 2023. The RA will work as a member the Response to
Risk Research Program of BIDMC (https://www.responsetorisk.org/)
and the Massachusetts Psychosis Network for Early Treatment
(https://www.mapnet.online/) with a focus on working with youth at
clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P). This is a vibrant
research and clinical program that provides many opportunities for
career development and collaboration with professionals across MA
and the US. The RA will work on several NIMH and SAMHSA funded
*InVEST*- This is an NIMH-funded study examining the development
and pilot evaluation of an intervention focused on supporting
school functioning for youth ages 12-18 who are showing signs of
clinical high risk for developing psychosis (InVEST -
Individualized Vocational and Educational Support and Training -see
a recent publication describing this program here). The RA will
serve as the research coordinator for this study who will oversee
all aspects of study management including recruitment, IRB
adherence, NIMH reporting, data entry and organization, and
*M3P*- The Massachusetts Psychosis Prevention Partnership is a
SAMHSA initiative (Community Programs for Outreach and Intervention
with Youth and Young Adults at Clinical High Risk for Psychosis)
aimed at supporting identification of youth ages 12-25 at clinical
high risk for psychosis and evidence-based intervention to prevent
or delay the onset of psychosis and to improve social and role
functioning. The person who fills this role will serve as the data
manager and coordinator for the project and will interact closely
with CHR-P specialty care programs across MA. They will be
primarily responsible for project data collection and reporting as
well as communicating with providers and helping to organize
learning collaborative training events.
*Job Responsibilities Include: *
InVEST study project coordinator
Project coordination, including overseeing and contributing to
study recruitment, data entry and management, and coordination of

and NIMH reporting, including submissions and organization of

Attend and lead relevant recurring research coordination, training,
and diagnostic meetings.
Data management and analysis
Help with outreach initiatives and professional training with
schools, primary care, faith-based organizations, families, and
local clinics to help raise awareness of how to identify signs of
risk for psychosis and refer for specialized assessment and
treatment at our center.
Reach out to providers to share information about research
Meet with youth ages 12-18 to provide school/ work coaching and
contribute to the development and testing of a manual for the
Data manager and coordinator M3P
Train program staff in documentation and data collection
Oversee all data collection and analysis.
Prepare reports for internal needs and as required by funder
(SAMHSA) (i.e. biannual report, continuation report, NOMS).
Work with M3P Program Coordinator and Associate Program Director to
ensure integrity and completeness of data
Develop a shared, secure, HIPAA compliant clinical data base for
M3P partners for client tracking and program and outcome data
Coordinate evaluation activities under the direction of the Program
Maintain a database of records (paper/electronic) of assessments,
informed consent and data entry.
Scan informed consent into an electronic health record (EHR)
Maintain master list of IDs for NOMS and internal databases.
Ensure that deliverables are implemented consistent with goals and
objectives outlined in application.
Help organize and coordinate clinical learning collaborative and
training events for providers.
Overall contributions to lab and department
Help to recruit, interview, and supervise undergraduate
Assisting with preparation of conference abstracts, manuscripts,
Advocacy related to reducing stigma of psychosis and expanding
access to specialized assessment and care for youth showing signs
of possible risk for psychosis.

Contributing to a positive lab group culture.
The position is situated in the Department of Psychiatry at Beth
Israel Deaconess Medical Center, located on the Harvard Longwood
campus in Boston (the RA will also have an option of working
remotely about half the time). The RA will join a vibrant clinical
and research community with many opportunities to interact with
clinicians, researchers and trainees in psychology, counseling,
social work, and psychiatry. The RA will report to and work closely
with Dr. Friedman-Yakoobian, Principal Investigator of the InVEST
study and Associate Program Director of the M3P Project.
Opportunities for professional development abound, and include
attending Harvard Longwood psychiatry grand rounds, clinical
seminars provided by theCEDAR Clinic(a specialized clinic for youth
at risk for psychosis), attending specialized trainings pertaining
to evidence-based practices for early psychosis, networking, and
co-authoring posters and scholarly publications. This is an
excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining both
research and clinical experience that will prepare them for
applications to graduate school in clinical psychology or medical
school. The right candidate will be prepared to commit to working
in this position for at least two years and be highly organized and
motivated with a warm and professional interpersonal style.
* Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related
* At least 1-year prior psychology research experience.
* Experience using REDcap, Excel, and SPSS preferred
* Experience in human services position (either volunteer or
professional) strongly preferred
* Excellent, writing, communication, interpersonal, organizational,
and leadership skills
* Demonstrated experience and interest working with culturally
diverse youth and commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and
* Interest in working with youth with mental health conditions and
ability to use supervision and training to learn to interact safely
and professionally with individuals whose reality testing, mood
regulation, behavior, and/or hygiene may be impaired
* Commitment to providing culturally competent services and
* Proficiency with website development (e.g., using Squarespace or
Weebly) is a plus
* Fluency in another language (especially Spanish) is a plus.
* Able to commit to the position for 2 years.
