Careers that Change LivesA Technical Sourcing Specialist is needed to assist with the activities required by suppliers to complete a remediation effort of our legacy (Palindrome, Mahurkar Elite, Legacy Triples and 8&10 Fr catheter lines). The ideal candidate will support two teams in parallel to complete efforts in a timely fashion. Clear, effective communication with suppliers for appropriate expectations and supporting follow up will be required to make the project a success. A Day in the LifeResponsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Provides cross-commodity sourcing leadership for New Product Development teams, Technology group, and Research group. Represents strategic sourcing as a focal point on these teams for new product introductions and product transfers. Coordinates the transfer of program information and responsibilities to commodity teams and/or manufacturing location such that they are effective in meeting program goals. Ensure proper Supplier Readiness for all Cardiac Rhythm Management/ Cardiovascular Diagnostics & Services New Product development project launches. Supports supplier Value Stream and Capacity Planning Supports Supplier Business Continuity Assessment Partners with Sourcing Engineer on project Supplier Selections Material Readiness for Qualification and initial Commercial builds Supports and maintains the development of department standard work such as: NPI Demand Planning, Launch Supplier Transfer, NPI Supplier Performance Metrics, and Supplier data analytics and reporting Partners with department Technical Sourcing Engineers and Commodity Management on development of site supplier strategy and overall Supply Management governance Partners with Operations Materials Management on development of launch transfer best practices. Provides cross-commodity sourcing leadership for New Product Development teams, Technology group, and Clinical/Research groups. Represents strategic sourcing as a focal point on these teams for new product introductions and product transfers. Coordinates the transfer of program information and responsibilities to commodity teams and/or manufacturing locations such that they are effective in meeting program goals/ initiatives. Drives Supplier Evaluation, Selection, Development, Qualification, and Product Launch Ramp-up in line with Commodity Strategies. Identifies potential new sources in Technologies where Category Strategies do not yet exist. Tracking and managing supplied component Quality, Supply Risk, Material Cost, Response / Lead Time, & Technology advancement for the full Device Bill of Material, (for both the new and legacy components). Travel for this position is approximately 25% or less.Must Have: Minimum Requirements Bachelors degree required Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experienceNice to Have APICS/DRM Green Belt/ DFSS and/or Lean Sigma experience or certification is a plus MS/MBA degree NPD/NPI work experience Dynamic team player and leader who can work effectively on cross-functional teams Medical device or regulated industry and knowledge of applicable FDA/GMP and International medical device regulations and standards experience preferred. Knowledge/Experience with specific technologies such as injection molding, extrusion, machining, wire drawing, Lab Testing Services experience or capacity & other manufacturing methods/processes.About MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
