difference with us. Technical staff in the Network Architecture,
Security, and Data Analytics Department specialize in solving
network-related problems critical to national well-being. Part of
MITRE Labs' Infrastructure and Networking Innovation Center, we
research, develop, and employ advanced technologies in network
modeling & simulation, dynamic network analysis, machine learning,
cellular networking, software defined networking, programmable data
plane, operational technology systems, future network science, and
more. The department's culture emphasizes collaboration and
collegiality.Roles and Responsibilities:Lead technical staff are
expected to make impactful contributions on one or more
mission-driven projects. Though there are no "typical" tasks, some
examples are:+ Lead a diverse team to deliver an innovative
networking solution for a MITRE sponsor+ Solve complex networking
and security problems for MITRE and its sponsors+ Analyze large
sets of network data to understand trends and anomalies+
Collaborate with government, industry, and academia to establish
networking standards+ Provide technical leadership to collaborative
research teams as well as junior network engineers to develop
innovative solutions using both commercial and MITRE developed
technologies.+ Create opportunities for advanced research in the
areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Software-Defined Networking
(SDN), network analytics, tactical networking, and next-generation
cellular networking (5G, xG) by developing proposals or joining
existing research teams.Minimum Qualifications:+ Bachelor's degree
in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information
Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or a similar
engineering discipline.+ Bachelor's degree with 8 years related
experience; Master's degree with 6 years related experience; PhD
with 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of
related education and work experience.+ Strong understanding of
networking and security concepts/capabilities such as TCP/IP stack,
routing, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS)+
Expertise in scripting/ software development languages such as
Python or Ansible+ Strong written and verbal communication skills+
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance
which includes US citizenshipPreferred Qualifications:+ Experience
in cloud and virtualization technologies to include compute,
storage, and networking in a commercial cloud environment+ Hands on
experience working with routing and switching infrastructure+
Expertise in network programmability concepts such as software
define networking and programmable data planes+ Master's degree in
a relevant engineering disciple This requisition requires the
