Overview
Gilbane's New England Business Unit is looking for a Business Development Manager II to support our ongoing growth. - We are looking for an experienced business development professional for the Higher Education market in Northern New England (Massachusetts and north) and for our HealthCare market. - -The Business Development Manager II -is the representative of the company responsible for contacting, meeting and establishing new business relationships in various markets for the purpose of securing new construction and professional services contracts. - If you have have hands on experience in Higher Education and/or Healthcare construction, either from the client side or the builder side and are interested in, or currently in business development, this is the right opportunity for you. -

Responsibilities


  • Report on planned and executed sales activities to appropriate levels of management
  • Keep management apprised of current and anticipated market conditions
  • Maintain a strong network within local A/E/C community
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships after project start-up
  • Generate sales with revenues exceeding $100 million
  • Manage prospective clients and prospects in various stages of process
  • Develop targeted new clients in pre-prospect stage
  • Develop and execute effective capture strategies for focus prospects
  • Lead Development of RFQ/RFP/Interview responses -
  • Engage operations personnel and subject matter experts in sales process early and often
  • Develop understanding of issues affecting assigned target markets>
  • Engage in articulate dialogue with client on issues pertinent to their market geography and/or sector
  • Target client and prospect development in those portions of the market where Gilbane is well-positioned
  • Travel within the business unit and occasionally outside the business unit
  • Maintain memberships in professional organizations and attend industry events

    Qualifications
    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    • BS or MS in Engineering, Architecture, Business, Marketing, or related industry experience
    • 5+ years of business development experience within the A/E/C industry, with a specifcally in higher education or healthcare
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Ability to assist production of highly professional proposals and presentations
