2023 Youth Leadership ForumPartners for Youth with Disabilities
(PYD) empowers youth with disabilities to reach their full
potential by providing transformative mentoring programs, youth
development opportunities, and inclusion expertise. We motivate
youth to reach their personal, educational, and career goals and
guide organizations in becoming more inclusive. - -Personal Care
Assistants (PCA) Positions are currently available at the
Massachusetts Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) hosted by Partners for
Youth with Disabilities and scheduled to take place in Boston, MA
-June 25th - 29th, 2023. The program will take place on a college
or university campus, with on-campus housing provided. -The YLF PCA
will provide assistance to -youth and young adult participants with
disabilities attending -YLF and will work as part of the YLF Team.
Experience working with youth with disabilities preferred. -
Background check required. -Covid-19 Vaccination Required. PCA's
stay on campus during the Youth Leadership Forum and participate in
staff orientation. - - -Roles and Responsibilities: -
Provide assistance as directed by
youth with tasks such as grooming, bathing, other self-care, and
housekeeping. Assist youth in learning to self-direct and ask for
assistance appropriately. - -Act responsibly in a way that reflects
the mission and values of the Youth Leadership -Forum. PCA's work
to empower youth to advocate for their needs and rights. - -Be
attentive and available to provide assistance to youth as requested
throughout the YLF. - - -Communicate effectively with Program
Manager in regard to student issues. -Respond appropriately to
youth concerns -and requests. - - -Communicate effectively with PCA
Supervisor and/or Program Manager about any issues or concerns that
arise with participants. - -Demonstrate a philosophy of empowerment
for youth with disabilities. -Assist youth in socializing with
other youth attending YLF, rather than with PCA's. (The goals of
YLF includes expanding the youth's social networks with other youth
with disabilities.) -Perform job duties in a safe and sanitary
manner. -Respond to youth emergency calls and determine what
services are needed, and contact the appropriate person(s);
-Complete other duties as assigned. - -Compensation: These
positions will be contracted at an hourly rate of up to $30. This
is a limited term position which could be engaged for the length of
