IT, Infrastructure Location: Boston, MA 02199 (Onsite role) Duration: Long Term Contract - 12 months Pay rate: Market/Negotiable The primary aim for this role is delivering strategically driven, cloud focused technology initiatives and projects. The ideal candStorageidate will have a proven track record in successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. Has the ability to pick up different technology systems, learn key requirements and dependencies critical to ensuring a successful delivery. Key to the success of this role is having a deep understanding of implementing Cloud Systems, being able to translate business needs and deliver, well documented, technical solutions. The role will play a key part in the migration of Advents current systems from traditional Datacentres to an Azure cloud environment. Attention to detail along with strong technical experience will be critical. During the establishment and transition to cloud the role will need to support both traditional On-premises systems, VMware, Dell Server, and Storage hardware along with working to migrate and rearchitect systems to the Cloud. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Practice continuous improvement and continual learning, staying abreast of trends and changes in the technology field.
  • Design and develop cloud computing frameworks and foundation to enable software developers to deliver business solutions.
  • Manage and maintain current systems, both on premise and Cloud based.
  • Installation and configuration of new systems.
  • Maintain and create new system documentation as required.
  • Monitor performance and provide proactive remediation of systems.
  • Keep systems up to date in line with company standards.
  • Ensure security, keeping in line with developed policies and practices.
  • Act as a point of escalation to the Service Desk and other IT Functions to resolve issues and requests.
  • Design and implement cloud solutions, working to agreed standards and principles.
  • Work closely with other internal IT functions as well as cloud vendors and system integrators.
  • Communicate effectively (both verbal and writing) with other IT personnel, executives, and users.
  • Provide an escalation point and technical lead when dealing with critical incidents. Skills and Experience / Person Specification
    • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Cloud Computing
    • Advanced Certification in Cloud solutions (e.g., Azure Solution Architect Expert) is required.
    • Must have previous migration experience of complex environments, including a combination of 'Lift and Shift' as well as refactoring in house developed applications.
    • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code preferable. Strong understanding of emerging Cloud technologies and standards.
    • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, security best practices, automation technologies and ideally DevOps operating models.
    • Demonstrated ability to gain consensus in a diverse working group that may involve both IT and business leaders across multiple disciplines.
    • Understanding of ITIL / IT Service Management (ITSM) methodologies.
    • Demonstrated ability work on diverse technical, and complex projects to completion.
    • Strong communication skills, collaborating across diverse functional teams.
    • Experience drafting and delivering communications to ensure full transparency within all levels of the business.

    • Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, Dell Server Hardware, Dell Compellent SAN, Exchange Hybrid Configurations
    • Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and Office 365 Administration; Solid appreciation of networking and ServiceNow Ticketing System
    • Achievement oriented with the ability to be flexible and adaptive on a daily basis.
    • Excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritise workload whilst being resilient and able to cope well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Flexible working hours along with the ability to work outside normal business hours on an as[1]needed basis
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a structured thinking process.
    • Ability to learn new concepts and carry out technical research. Additional Requirements / Qualifications
