Job Description:

Hiring Youth Team Leaders for the City of Cambridge to oversee a cohort of Preteen and Middle School members in a licensed afterschool program. As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for team building, curriculum development, behavior management, improving performance, and maintaining a culture consistent with amazing community values! Key duties:

• Manage cohort activities and behaviors during center activities inside and outside of the building.
• Support Youth Workers' and Group Leaders' daily activities.
• Plan, design, organize, and implement age-appropriate Youth Center programs and activities for cohort and program, for Pre-Teens between the ages of 9-13.
• Provide a safe, structured, and stimulating environment for Youth Center members and volunteers.
• Attend and participate fully in staff meetings, planning sessions, other meetings, staff development, and training programs and activities as directed.
• Be a positive role model and develop meaningful relationships with Youth Center members.
• Maintain an open, friendly, on-going communication with families and schools about the progress of participants. Qualified Candidates will possess:
  • Two years' experience working with youth in an academic, recreational, or athletic setting
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Group supervisory skills
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of positive youth development
  • Effective communication skill
  • Interest and ability to engage and support families. The City of Cambridge's workforce, like the community it serves, is diverse.
