DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps members build relationships with young people and support them in developing skills, connection, and confidence in their learning. They create opportunities for young people to set goals, drive their own solutions, make decisions, fail, learn and grow. In short, they meet young people where they're at and support them to get where they want to go. For 10 months, DIAL/SELF members gain practical experience and build leadership skills that transfer across careers and vocations, particularly those related to education, youth work, nonprofits, social work, and community work. The three elements of DIAL/SELF's AmeriCorps program are: +On-site youth work. +Team service project with fellow members. +Weekly training for professional and personal development. Participants in the DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps program earn a Compensation Package of up to $24,695 (The package includes a stipend of up to $17,800 and an Education Award of up to $6,895). Members are provided with health care and child care if needed, and they're often eligible for other food and heat assistance, as well. Additionally, the service schedule accommodates personal and sick days. Ultimately, members often find the greatest benefits of the program come through gaining practical skills, making connections that lead to future opportunities, and collaborating with fellow members and the community.
