Job Description:

Systems Engineer

System Engineer technical:

Develop and document system administration standard operating procedures
Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures
Maintain baseline system security according to organization procedures
Maintain baseline system security according to organization policies
Monitor and maintain system server configurations
Conduct periodic system maintenance health checks
Oversee installation implementation configuration and support of system components
Plan, execute and verify security is followed
Document Data flow diagrams and create Visio network and system diagrams



Compliance component:

Advise senior management (Division CIO) on risk levels and security posture
Track audit findings and recommendations to ensure appropriate mitigation actions are taken
Oversee all division policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure procedures and guidelines comply with cyber security model
Knowledge of current and emerging threats / threat vectors
Knowledge of organization risk tolerance and or risk management approach
Assure successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate information technologies (IT) policies and procedures that are consistent with the organization mission and goals
Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cybersecurity reporting
Ensure security improvement actions are evaluated validated and implemented as required
Ensure that cybersecurity inspections test and reviews are coordinated for the entire network topology
Interpret patterns of non-compliance to determine their impact on levels of risk and overall effectiveness
Manage the monitoring of all Division information security data sources to maintain organization situation awareness using trusted security tooling
Identify alternative information security strategies to address changing organizational security objects are met



Requirements:

-Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with systems security, understanding of software lifecycle. These candidates should be early career, self-starter hungry to learn, and eager to grow skillset. We are not looking for candidates that are too senior. Interpersonal skills are critical.

-Security+ certification

-Bachelors degree or certifications and equivalent experience. Any prior military experience is a plus. They will modify the years of experience if someone has the majority of the technical skills and a military background.



-Candidate should expect to work onsite 3-4 days/week.

-Interim is sufficient to start
