• Analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance.
• Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place.
• Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.
• Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgroundsAdditional responsibilities:Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses
  • Working with a large system safety program or multiple mid-sized safety programs, including:
    • Monitoring program technical execution,
    • Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors)
    • Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval
    • Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process
    • Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards
    • Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program
    • Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and designThis position is posted as ONSITE and can be based at either Raytheon's Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA locations.Qualifications You Must Have:
      • Typically Requires: -Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or Safety Engineering experience. -An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
      • Experience with: System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. -
      • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We Prefer:
        • Experience in command and control systems and/or weapon combat systems
        • Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
        • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
        • Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to supporting safety personnel
        • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Proposal Development

More information about SecurityThe salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
