-- Basic Summary --Responsible for developing, implementing and maturing an enterprise capable integrated Test Automation Strategy. Is a Testing and Automation domain expert, thought leader and quality assurance advocate. Can articulate the value case for automation with demonstrable examples of how and where it's best to leverage these technologies for optimum return. Has finger on the pulse with respect to IT innovation, industry trends and how they could impact our direction of travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Design, build and deliver our enterprise Test Automation Strategy and Roadmap in line with Business/IT strategies, policies and objectives--
--- Identify and propose value adding Test Automation solutions appropriate for each Business area, domain, platform or product
--- Research and exploit industry thought leadership in order to bring relevant value adding automation innovations to CRL--
--- Develop best practice tool utilization policies, frameworks and methods to support Agile, Devops and Continuous Testing goals
--- Create measurement frameworks to enable regular assessment of performance and value, informing and driving constant desire for improvement--
--- Direct definition of automation knowledge management and training approach, supporting requisite capability uplift across the Enterprise Testing chapter(s)
--- Build relationships across Business and IT leadership and peer groups to enable strategy alignment, collaboration and shared advocacy--
--- Adhere to pertinent regulatory requirements and to company policies, practices and procedures (e.g., SOX, SOP, GLP, GMP, etc.).
--- Manage financial budgets and forecasts to remain within commitments while achieving goals.
--- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
-- Qualifications Education:--
--- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in computer science / engineering or equivalent work experience
--- Tricentis Tosca - Test Architect Level 1 Certification (desirable) Experience:--
--- Minimum of ten (10) years leading Test Automation Strategy design, build and implementation--
--- At least two (2) years delivering Test Automation within an Agile, Devops (or similar) environment--
--- Deeply developed understanding of modern enterprise technology stacks / variants, related automation challenges, constraints and solutions (e.g. Cloud vs on-prem, Web vs Desktop, UI vs API or Data Stores etc.)
--- Coding proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming language (e.g. C#, Java etc.) and/or scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby etc.)
--- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, JSON and the HTTP protocol
--- Understanding of RESTful APIs and proficient in writing automated tests for them--
--- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and use of Application Lifecycle Management tools
--- Capable of developing and implementing Performance Testing (Load, Soak, Stress, Volume etc.) strategies and familiar with market leading toolsets (desirable) Other:--
