Job Mission
ASML is seeking an experienced scientific data analyst with
expertise in processing of images for metrology process development
of ultra-high precision flat optics and ceramics. This person will
join the Advanced Development Center in Wilton, Connecticut - A
Research and Development team focused on proto-typing of next
generation wafer/reticle clamping systems. The main job function is
to develop image processing, data analysis and machine learning
algorithm and software to aid in development of electro static
wafer clamping and reticle clamping systems to solve challenging
engineering problems associated with achieving nanometer scale
precision.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as
defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. - 730,
et seq.). As a condition of employment, qualified candidates must
be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to
beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed
with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled
technology.
Job Description
The main focus of this position will be:
Develop/improve image processing algorithm to extract nanometer
flatness, roughness, morphology and chemicalinformation from
scientific imaging equipment (e.g. interferometer, SEM, AFM,
etc.)
Integrate algorithm from developers into image processing software
package for analysis and process development cycles for engineering
and manufacturing users
Maintain Version controlled software package for multiple product
generations
Perform software testing to identify application, algorithm and
software bugs
Validate/verify/regression test software to ensure it meets the
business and technical requirements
Develop machine learning models to predict trends and behaviors
relating to lifetime and cycle time improvement of the product
Develop and execute roadmap of analysis, software and systems, to
mitigate product and process risk and prevent software performance
issues
Lead the design team in software analysis tool development to find
solutions to difficult technical problems in an efficient
manner
Develop/maintain/improve database structures and capabilities
Write MATLAB scripts to search, analyze and plot data from
databases
Support query code to interrogate data for manufacturing and
engineering needs
Support image analysis on data and derive conclusions
Some travel (- 10%) to Europe, Asia and within the US can be
expected
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical
Engineering or related disciplines with 5+ years of experience in
developing data analysis and image processing algorithms and
software
OR
Master's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical
Engineering or related disciplines with 3+ years of experience in
developing data analysis and image processing algorithms and
software
OR
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering or
related disciplines with research experience in developing data
analysis and image processing algorithms and software
Experience
Experience in software like MATLAB, Python, C/C++
Familiarity with Software Configuration Management
Minimum qualifications - the hired candidate must possess all of
the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the
position including:
Minimum # of years of relevant experience (see above)
Experience in scientific data analysis, development of image
processing algorithms and software
Expertise in statistics and data fitting techniques
Clear understanding in measurement techniques (e.g. interferometry,
scatterometry, optical sensor, imaging systems, SEM, AFM, etc.)
Knowledge/hands-on experience with software tools like MATLAB or
Python
Have strong written and oral communicative skills and a commitment
to achieving results on time

Other Information
This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite
presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and
meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and
innovation
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees
working in roles conducive to remote work (up to 2 days a week)
