Job Description Job Title: - Senior Data Analyst
FLSA Classification: - Exempt (Salaried)
Reports to: - Director of Business and Data Analytics
Position Summary
The Senior Data Analyst will provide analytical insights to inform
GBFB strategy, support self-service data ingestion framework,
develop and support data quality standards and access governance
across enterprise, and champion adherence to the principles of data
quality management.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and
report on data quality
Responsible for leveraging industry best practices in developing
and managing policies and tools relating to enterprise and data
governance
Responsible for fostering appreciation and adherence to the
principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage,
and business definitions
Provide support to IT in managing security mechanisms and data
access governance
Support ongoing Digital Transformation work; provide expertise and
translate the business needs to design; and develop tools,
techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data
visualization
Conduct detailed analysis on data used across business units to
evaluate business processes
Perform various data analytics using statistical models and/or
industry accepted tools
Provide relational database expertise (Netsuite, Salesforce, SQL,
etc.) to construct and execute queries to be used in data analysis
activities
Develop data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable
self-service frameworks for data consumers
Provide innovative analytical insights on GBFB operational data,
community-sourced data, and existing datasets relating to food
assistance and food insecurity
Respond to data and product related inquiries to support business
and technical teams
Support development of the "Service Insights" program, working
closely with the Community Investment Team to implement
network-wide adoption, providing expertise to ensure quality data
capture, analytic capabilities, and support the potential for
changing business needs and future growth
Maintain current reports and dashboards
Maintain and develop departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts and
data quality tools
Ability to analyze large and diverse data sets
Ability to develop comprehensive governance policies and
procedures
Ability to create professional reports and summaries
Strong communication skills both verbally and written
Ability to create insightful and accessible visualizations
Comfortable presenting to both internal, external, and diverse
audiences
Project Management and Planning skills
Flexibility and adaptability to emerging and changing
priorities
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software
Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
Sensitivity to issues affecting low-income, food insecure
populations
Demonstrated resiliency; strong relationship building and
interpersonal skills
Mandatory Education and Experience
BS in Data Science or similar field with minimum of 5 years of
experience working in a Data Management role; MS in Data Science or
similar field with minimum of 3 years' experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a nonprofit
organization preferred
Experience working with relational databases and/or data warehouses
required; Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce, and SQL databases
preferred
Experience with BI reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
required
Experience in quantitative analysis and statistical modelling
required
Experience with Python or other scripting language preferred
Experience working within process management, service management,
and/or improvement/development methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma,
ITIL, Agile) preferred
Remote, high-speed internet access required
Occasional weekend and evening hours required
Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the
effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at
GBFB
Physical Demands
Ability to work in an office environment
Ability to work remotely both independently and collaboratively
using connectivity tools like Zoom and Teams
Ability to sit for up to 3 hours at a time
Work Environment
The job is performed in an indoor environment - in a combination of
remote and on-site, open floor plan, setting. (Traditional office
setting)
