Job DescriptionMIT Lincoln Laboratory's Technical Communications
group is seeking a passionate and creative professional to join our
growing design team as a web production artist. Our group provides
a full suite of design and communications services to the
Laboratory's research staff supporting projects focused on National
Security. We work in a fun, fast-paced and agile environment where
flexibility and adaptation are key.We are looking for a web
production artist with a strong design foundation and typography
skills that will help create visuals for everything from simple
websites to technical interfaces for a specific user base. This
individual will report to the creative projects team lead and work
under the direction of our user interface and user experience
design lead as well as integrate with project teams on the client
side.Working within our design system, you'll have the opportunity
to design, edit and create mockups and designs that will be
transferred to the development team for implementation. You will
work in diverse teams collaborating with designers, developers, and
user experience/human factors specialists. You will thrive on this
team if you are eager to hone your user-interface skillset, have
great visual communication skills, and want to work on projects
that make a positive impact on national security.Basic
Responsibilities:Create and iterate on low-fidelity
wireframesCreate fine-tuned mockups and UI components in Sketch for
a variety of web-based projects, from simple stand-alone websites
to complex technical interfaces for power-usersFollow a design
system or create a new one ensuring continuity in and across
projectsCollaborate closely with creative directors, designers and
developersRequirements:1 - 3 years of experience in a web/digital
work environmentStrong design skills and proficient in Adobe CC and
SketchInterest and commitment to efficient design workflowsBasic
understanding of UI/UX coding and development processUnderstanding
of common user experience patterns, user interface components and
information architectureDetail-oriented and organizedAbility to
take instructions and execute as expectedBalance projects requiring
straight execution of creative direction with projects that allow
or require more creative freedomPassion for staying abreast of
current user interface design aesthetics, patterns, and
workflowsExperience creating click-through prototypes is not
