POSITION OVERVIEW: The Help Desk/Event Technician is a hybrid role that will be responsible for basic Help Desk duties when scheduled for daytime shifts, and for game day equipment checks 4 hours prior to the game when scheduled for Event shifts. We are looking for an ambitious individual that enjoys learning new technology, working at a friendly ballpark, and on IT and AV equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES Event Tech functions: technician will take responsibility for verifying functionality of and escalating issues with: TVs within the ballpark In-suite technology (iPads, VoIP phones, AV systems) Wired and WiFi internet connectivity and testing Premium club area technology (portable TVs, handheld scanners/credit card readers) Help Desk functions: technician will be responsible for basic IT Help Desk functions: Monitor IT Help Desk queue and escalate tickets as required Answer IT Help Desk hotline and assist callers with basic requests, such as password resets Basic iOS & Android troubleshooting and configuration Basic PC & printer hardware troubleshooting/support VoIP and analog phone support Conference Technology (Zoom Rooms, Crestron, RTI) Image Windows PCs Equipment moves Fluency in Spanish a plus CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS Basic knowledge of PC and network troubleshooting, including AV component connections Ability to interact with fans and guests in a hospitable manner Available to work nights and weekends, as well as special off-season events Able to lift 50 lbs. and walk up to 5 miles during a shift Reliable, punctual, well organized, willing to learn and take ownership of ballpark technology challenges, and work with IT team to resolve quickly Demonstrated patience and the ability to troubleshoot Team player motivated to learn and assist IT colleagues when not performing assigned duties Must have effective communication skills The Red Sox (or FSM) requires proof of being up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment, subject to applicable legal requirements. Up-to-date means having received all recommended COVID-19 vaccination doses in the primary series and a booster dose(s) when eligible, per CDC guidelines.
