flexibility in terms of working hours.About the RoleTHE POSITIONAs
part of the continued expansion of our Private Investing
capabilities, we are seeking to recruit an Analyst to join our new
Private Placements team. Wellington has been investing in private
markets since 2003, and the Firm launched its first dedicated
private capital fund in 2014. Today, the privates team currently
manages approximately $7 billion in assets across four growth
equity and venture funds, and it is the fastest growing investment
group within Wellington. Private Placements will be the firms
initial product in private credit as we look to further expand the
Private Investing platform. In addition, the build out of our
Private Placements offering will be an important complement to our
existing $150 billion insurance book of business at the firm.The
Private Placements Analyst (Analyst) will be involved in all
aspects of the deal process and will work directly with our senior
investment team to assist in the origination, underwriting,
monitoring, and analysis of globally sourced privately placed debt
securities. In order to optimize deal flow, the Analyst will
develop broad relationships with company management teams as well
as outside financing partners such as banks, sponsors, and
advisors. The ideal candidate will source, track, and evaluate
potential investment opportunities, conduct in-depth due diligence
of select deals, and develop investment recommendations. In
addition, the Analyst will curate the deal flow from initial
contact through the life of the private placement and will assist
with investment, portfolio management, and strategic decision
making. We expect this individual to leverage their insight and
experience during the investment process, while working closely
with others across our investment and legal teams. Furthermore, the
Analyst will be a key member in our founding team, fundamental in
helping develop junior talent, and will have a pathway for growth
on the Private Placements platform.ESSENTIAL SKILLSThe following
essential skills are required for the role:
- Analytical acumen, modeling, research, and passion The ideal
candidate will have superior financial modeling skills and
analytical capabilities and an eagerness to apply their expertise
in support of the team. The ability to synthesize disparate
information, identify the most important elements, and arrive at a
conclusion is required. In addition, the Analyst will emphasize
fundamental/thematic, research-oriented, bottom-up approach to
underwriting private companies and the ability to implement those
ideas through a highly analytical and detailed approach. The
successful candidate would have exposure to portfolio management
and follow-on financing as well.
- Superior collaboration and influencing skills The Analyst will
be a self-directed, hard-working team player, who contributes to
the investment efforts of the Private Placement team. The
successful candidate will build strong relationships with company
management teams, industry contacts, financing partners, clients
and prospects, as well as internally with colleagues on the
investment and legal teams. The ability to take risks and challenge
investment views is critical, as is the humility to admit mistakes
and a desire to learn from others. The Analyst must recognize the
benefits of diverse perspectives. The ability to communicate (both
verbally and in writing) and contribute to an open investment
dialogue is required.
- Intellectual curiosity, capacity for differentiated thinking,
and a growth mindset The flexibility and openness to continue
learning, evolving, and growing as an Analyst is important. The
Analyst will have a global perspective and creative approach for
analyzing private placement transactions. Success in this role will
open progression opportunities within the Private Placements team
and broader Wellington.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSAdditional
qualifications and individual characteristics are likely to
include:
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience on the buy- or
sell-side within private placements or credit research. An
understanding of the US private placement market is preferred;
- Strong academic credentials: an undergraduate degree in
finance, economics or accounting is preferred;
- Strong bottom-up fundamental approach to research;
- Established network in the private placement ecosystem
including issuers, industry peers, and financing partners;
- Track record of developing, negotiating, and monitoring bespoke
covenants;
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail;
- Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize time well;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions
in the face of uncertainty;
- Independence of thought, an entrepreneurial nature, and a
global perspective;
- Sound judgment, strong work ethic and highest personal and
professional integrity; and

position is:USD 100,000 - 225,000This range takes into account the

process.Base salary is only one component of Wellingtons total
