Tuition is paid by Labcorp!--Access to growth opportunitiesWith the support of exceptional people from across the globe, you'll be empowered to own your career journey with:-------------------Formal and informal mentoring opportunities-------------------Extensive training and job shadowing opportunities-------------------Personalized development planning-------------------Exposure to many drug development scientific career pathsJob Description-- Performing task and duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)-- Daily monitoring of animal health, including colony animals and animals on study, pre- and post-surgery-- Learning intra-operative monitoring of anesthesia and animal health-- Learning peri-surgical animal handling; placement of peripheral intravenous catheters, aseptic preparation, bandaging, anesthetic recovery-- Administration and documentation of test articles, drugs, and anesthetic agents-- Working directly with surgical/veterinary staff to insure successful surgical outcomes, adherence to protocols and regulatory guidelines-- Collection of surgery data, including anesthetic records, surgery flow sheets, animal medical records, etc.-- Preparing and maintaining surgical and procedure spaces, including setup, operation, and clean up, according to client and protocol specifications. May include handling surgical instruments, working within a sterile field, and sanitizing the facilities-- Maintaining inventory of surgical supplies and medications.-- Support OR needs as directed by Supervisor or senior staff: positioning animals, runner/relief duties, autoclave, etc.; surgical assistance to veterinary staff-- Learn use of imaging equipment (camera, radiographs, ultrasound, etc. )-- Learn basic monitoring anesthesia for cardiovascular, interventional, laparoscopic, endoscopic and other medical device studies-- Read and review of study protocols, client supply lists, and participates in ordering of specialty equipment/supplies as necessary for studies-- Quality control on designated equipment-- Occasional mandatory overtime required-- Weekend duties assigned on rotation-- Present a professional attitude while interacting with Sponsors and representatives-- Other duties as assignedRequirements:Experience with animals as a Vet TechnicianBS/BA degree in science or related field such as Animal Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry Microbiology, Chemistry and other related fields. Experience may be used in lieu of education. OR MS/MA degree in science or related field
