Exempt As a Senior Resource Analyst within the Resource Offshore
team you will be providing your technical guidance and expertise in
wind resource assessment and energy yield modelling to all offshore
projects within our global pipeline. You will be participating and
representing the company in external expert groups as well as in
international R&D/innovation projects with the aim to maximize
the value of those activities. Furthermore, lead of technical due
diligence on new opportunities, detailed analysis of specific wind
conditions, design and approval of measurement campaigns, design
and optimization of turbine layouts, post-construction EPE
analysis, power curve measurements as well as management of
internal and external stakeholders are other examples of your
diverse task landscape that you will face in the daily business.
Development and mentoring of our Junior/Medior Analysts is also
expected to ensure consistent development of our talents.
Responsibilities
- Provision of technical expertise as a Senior Resource Analyst
throughout the complete lifecycle of offshore wind farm projects
from "Greenfield" through BID and FID. You are the technical
authority in your area of expertise.
- Independent analysis of potential wind energy via in-depth
analysis of meteorological raw data from various type of devices
and/or other available data up to the translation and statistical
adjustment into a predicted long-term wind resource by applying
industries best practices and latest science. You know the science
and cutting edge methodologies like the back of your hand.
- Modelling of wind flow and energy yield production estimates
via multiple engineering-based wake models including the
quantification of various technical losses, inherent uncertainties
and identification of discipline-specific risks and opportunities.
You have an impressive track record.
- Lead in the design and optimization of turbine layouts and the
optimization of projects towards LCoE. You have tackled multiple
technical challenges and you know the future trends.
- Conducting "technical" due diligence analysis with regards to
wind resource, energy yield, turbine layout, site conditions and
proposed wind turbines.
- Approval of the design of new and review of existing
measurement campaigns based on various type of measurements systems
(for e.g. met mast, LiDAR, Floating LiDAR, nacelle mounted LiDAR)
as well as review of and independent analysis of results from power
curve measurements.
- Support of internal and external discipline-specific R&D
projects as well as management and independent analysis of 3rd
party assessments. You have a R&D mentality and you have
multiple examples in which you developed technical solutions.
- Continuous improvement of existing in-house standards,
industries "best practices" and in-house software tools used for
various tasks. You never stop, you understand that Offshore is the
driver for innovation and that continuous improvement is necessary
in all areas. Qualifications
- Masters or Diploma degree(s) in Meteorology, Aeronautics or
Astronautics, Mathematics, Natural Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, key cutting-edge
knowledge, a solid and proven track record in wind resource
assessment , project design and modeling of wind farm energy
production according to best practices and applying the latest
science and R&D.
- Solid experiences in wind turbine layout design/optimization,
site conditions assessments, load assessments and/or power curve
measurements is a plus.
- Very good knowledge and impressive experience in using relevant
wind resource analysis tools (e.g. WindPro, OpenWind, WindoGrapher)
relevant statistical analysis as well as wake models. You know the
science.
- Reasonable knowledge and understanding of wind turbine
technology (e.g. aerodynamics, turbine control, SCADA system) as
well as offshore wind farm system design (e.g. electrical
infrastructure) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of and experience in programming languages (e.g.
Matlab, Python) is a plus.
- Agile mindset and working attitude, analytical skills,
creativity and problem-solving competence is desired.
- Reasonable level of self-organization, self-reliance,
reliability, persistence and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and team skills as well as a confident
appearance.
- Good written and spoken knowledge in English, knowledge of
