Description
Mission Statement:
Drive the North American supply chain sustainability agenda. Design
and implement sustainable and transformational changes across
supply chain processes and tools. Collaborate across the value
chain to support customer sustainability requirements and
expectations as well as regulatory requirements. Increase the
sustainability maturity level of both internal and external
stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Drive the regional supply chain sustainability agenda
- Create a regional sustainability roadmap, aligned with the
global sustainability strategy and in collaboration with category
management
- Work closely with global sustainability management and cascade
down the customer and the legal requirements into supply chain
processes
- Investigate global sustainability trends in the Power Grids
industry and provide inputs to supply chain management, benchmark
on practices from other internal and external businesses.
- Stay close to customer related sustainability requirements and
translate them into actionable items for suppliers Material
compliance and other legal requirements:
- Work closely with sustainability management and cascade down
the customer and the legal requirements into supply chain
processes
- Lead further implementation of materials compliance processes
in supply chain in support of other functions (e.g: Conflict
Minerals, Cobalt, SCIP, REACH and RoHS) and adherence to those
regulations
- Execute on the deployment of the sustainability agenda related
to legal requirements in accordance with laws and regulations
- Support Integrity due diligence processes, audits, trainings,
and other initiatives related to vetting suppliers and in line with
the overall supply chain risk management strategies Sustainable
supply base management:
- Lead the Supplier sustainability development program expansion
in the region including participating in critical supplier
assessments and resolution of non-conformities
- Deploy Ecovadis assessments as a specific dedicated tool to
evaluate the company's progress to their targets
- Promote low carbon circular economy practices in supply base
(e.g: zero waste for suppliers, sustainable packaging introduction,
recycling) Material sustainability data collection
- Collect and analyze specific sustainability data such as CO2
emission levels, share of recycled materials from the production of
supplier raw materials and products and influence the global
sourcing strategies to achieve sustainable supply base KPI
Management
In collaboration with all sub-functions, drive optimization of KPIs
around supplier performance
Create dashboards for easy info access and multi-layers (from
consolidation to adequate breakdown) reporting.
Communication
- Structure, collect and organize the information related to the
Sustainability activities and prepare report with the aim to
provide information useful at execution level.,
- Prepare summaries, overviews, reports and success stories
aiming to illustrate and make transparent the value addition.
- Actively engage in communicating withing SCM community, with
key stakeholders of other functions and leadership teams. People
Capability, Training and Coaching
- Build continuous sustainability capability through training and
implementation of adequate tools and methods. Contribute to
updating the related processes and tools needed to reach
sustainable goals
- Identify gaps, focus on training and coaching others to build
capabilities on the tools and methods to drive process
transformation.
- Build a Coaching culture across the organization with focus on
Employee Engagement and Accountability.
- Use existing and propose new methods to monitor the engagement
levels and quantify the SCM organization maturity level. Your
Background
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a related
field of study and minimum 6 years of relevant experience in
business sustainability.
- Candidate must already have a work authorization that would
permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Strong project management and project execution skills with an
ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental reporting as
well as HSE Management Systems
- Experience with benchmarking and analyzing applicable data to
drive sustainability measures in business
- Experience as a lead auditor for HSE system audits as well as
HSE legal compliance audits
- Experience in Risk Management audits and evaluations for
business
- Experience with materials compliance processes (e.g: Conflict
Minerals, Cobalt, SCIP, REACH and RoHS) and adherence to those
regulations
