Job Description:Data Quality AnalystIn this role you will be partnering closely with the Advanced Data Analytics team in Fidelity s Asset Management organization. This team is an embedded team focused on unlocking the potential of new technologies, techniques, and datasets to assist our Investment Professionals in generating alpha for our investment products and customers.
The vision of the team is to build a best-in-class platform for alternative data and the Mission is to provide the Right Data to the Right People at the Right Time with the Right Quality and Right Coverage.
The team is comprised of a diverse set of professionals who work collectively with our business partners to take ideas from a whiteboard, through prototypes that garner feedback to be rapidly deployed to our users, all the way through to integration with enterprise applications in the AWS cloud.
*This position will have rotating weekend and holiday on call responsibilities*
The RoleThe role is ideal for someone with an enterprise data background, who is technically proficient, has strong coding and data skills, understands and appreciates the sensitivity to high quality data in an investment lifecycle and can operate effectively as part of an accelerated development team.
The role is ideal for an associate with technical proficiency. An associate with strong design, analytical, collaboration and influencing skills. The ideal candidate can have either a business or technology background and will act as a conduit within business and technology, with the ability to generate meaningful insights from structured and unstructured datasets and leverage those insights to provide actionable recommendations on how to improve the veracity of our data ecosystem and the quality of our data.\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0\u00A0The\u00A0Expertise\u00A0You Have

  • Bachelor s or Master s Degree in a STEM related field (e.g. Math, Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required.
  • 8+ years experience with or exposure to enterprise data quality monitoring and leveraging analytics to drive business strategy.
  • Experience in identifying Anomalies and patterns in data
  • Strong background with Math, SQL, and Python / R skills
  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs and writing ciphers
  • Experience of handling multiple tracks concurrently
  • Knowledge of unstructured / alternative data is desirable
  • Strong Problem-solving skills and handling on call responsibilities
  • Experience working with business users and ability to communicate across all levels of the organizationThe\u00A0Skills You Bring
    • You have solid experience in Math, SQL and Python / R
    • You have solid experience in configuration management
    • You have knowledge in monitoring Data Pipelines, Data Lineage, mapping data, transform data, and to load data in various data stores like Oracle, Snowflake, S3, and / or shared drives.
    • You are familiar or willing to learn web scraping techniques
    • You are comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to remediate potential data issues and introduce control protocols intended to mitigate risk as a part of our Data Quality oversight framework
    • Willingness to learn as new languages, techniques, and technologies are onboardedSo you have the basic skills we are looking for here are some of the additional skills that will differentiate you and make you the ideal candidate:
      • Knowledge in Web Scraping, extracting text from HTML
      • Knowledge in RDBMS, ODBC, JDBC, and ODP.Net
