Research Department at Cambridge Health Alliance advances the
organization’s mission by supporting applied services and clinical
research that promote health equity, improved delivery of mental
health services to adults, youth and children, and community
well-being. The department collaborates with a wide range of
partners, including other research labs at CHA, other academic
partners, including other Harvard Psychiatry Departments, community
organizations, health systems, and public agencies. With
multidisciplinary expertise, the individuals in the research
department assist in the design, implementation and administration
of rigorous, community-informed projects that generate actionable
insights and drive positive, data-informed change. The Health
Equity Research Lab (HERLab) is a health services research center
connected to the Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance
Department of Psychiatry that is made up of an interdisciplinary
group of researchers and clinicians dedicated to conducting
research to improve physical and mental health in diverse
communities. Summary: Working under the general direction of the
Associate Director and Principal Investigators the RA will provide
administrative support to research projects. Responsibilities
include: Participates in and supports the planning, development,
and implementation of ongoing research projects as programmed by
the researchers and principal investigator(s); Assists in grant
writing and grant submissions working in collaboration with the PI
and other researchers; Assists in manuscript preparation and
submission to journals; Assists in providing administrative support
to the research team by scheduling meetings and setting up
conference calls; Works closely with the operations manager as
support for hiring and orienting new researchers, volunteers or
summer students; Manage summer interns and volunteers; When
required, help with the recruitment, interviews and follow up of
research subjects. In addition, coordinate with community partners
and other research team members; Collect pertinent and updated
literature for different projects and publications; Development and
corresponding tracking of IRB documentation; Assist in graphic,
tables and other presentation of research data; Review, analyze,
and synthesize existing literature and translate results of the
literature review into ‘everyday’ language for mass audiences.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study
preferred Organizing and completing time sensitive tasks
Willingness and ability to work in a busy environment with shifting
and competing priorities Ability to work well with all levels of
